HISTORY OF THE BOOK
Among arcana and legends: a guide to delving into the mythical universe of the Tarot Profanus
More than just a book of interpretation, this guide is a gateway to the stories, symbols, and legends that bring the Tarot Profanus to life.
The Tarot Profanus was born from research into the cultural memory of Catalonia, reclaiming myths, legends, traditions, and characters from the Catalan popular imagination to transform them into the 78 arcana of a contemporary deck. Each card starts from a story and a unique symbolic universe, connecting the tradition of tarot with a narrative heritage passed down through generations.
In this guide, each arcanum is accompanied by an extensive interpretation that delves into its symbols, its history, and the meanings it can acquire in a reading. From Saint Eulalia and Saint George to Count Arnau, the Dance of Death, or the Horta Labyrinth, the cards become a journey through the legends and imageries that are part of Catalan culture.
This is the book that accompanies the collector's edition of the Tarot Profanus, now available separately in a limited edition of only 100 copies. A piece designed both for those who want to delve deeper into the deck and for those with an interest in the symbolism, mythology, and traditions of Catalonia.

Who are we?
Eugènia and Leandro are us, two Argentinians who share not only Profānus, but also seventeen years of life together, with many more to come.
A historian and an artist who emigrated to Barcelona in 2025 seeking to understand our origins a little better. For this reason, we researched the legends and myths of the Catalan territories, becoming captivated by their stories.
Our dream is for everyone to fall in love with Catalonia just as we have.
