A column rises in the heart of the Gràcia neighbourhood, like a finger pointing to the path of the stars. On its front, the zodiac signs were carved, twelve faces that guard each month of the year, marking not only the hours but also the destinies. The tower’s sumptuous crown was its bell, carrying a soul and a proper name that resonated like an ancient whisper: La Marieta.

One April day, when those in power sought to take the children of the people to war, the bell rang out, and the neighbours filled the streets in what became known as the Revolta de les Quintes.

Its remarkable symbol is preserved in Arcana number 16 of the Profanus tarot.
