A1 Dance of Death poster
In the shadowy folds of medieval time, death donned the guise of dance to invite kings and paupers alike to waltz, and its choreography swept across Europe like a mournful wind of Holy Week. Its presence represented the awareness of the finiteness of time, and a passionate love for making the most of life while one had the privilege to enjoy it.
Today, the only living expression of that tradition is the Dance of Death of Verges, in Catalonia, and it is recovered in arcana number 13 of the Tarot Profanus.
- 150 g premium matte cardstock paper.
- 594 x 841 mm, A1.
- Frame not included.
INSPIRATION AND SYMBOLISM
Bring ancestral history to your walls: the sacred dance of time, renewal, and eternity
"Nemini parco" — Time spares no one, but in every end dwells the promise of a new beginning.
Amidst the shadows of medieval Europe, the Dance of Death was born, a powerful representation of the transience of life and the shared destiny of all human beings. Today, the last living manifestation of this ancient ritual is preserved in Verges, where every Holy Thursday five skeletons dance to the hypnotic rhythm of drums under the moonlight, evoking the eternal cycle of harvest, transformation, and rebirth.
Inspired by Arcana XIII of the Tarot Profanus, this striking print brings the symbolic power of the Dance of Death into your space. A facsimile reproduction of the detailed illustration, drawn entirely by hand and inspired by medieval art, this work becomes a centerpiece full of meaning: a daily reminder to embrace the present and honor the continuous cycles of life.
Designed by art historian Eugenia García Domínguez and contemporary artist Leandro García Pimentel, this print has been created for lovers of historical illustration, symbolic aesthetics, and Catalan folklore.

Behind the scenes
Who are we?
Eugènia and Leandro are us, two Argentines who share not only Profānus, but also seventeen years of life together, and those yet to come.
A historian and an artist who emigrated to Barcelona in 2025 seeking to understand our origins a little better. For this reason, we investigated the legends and myths of the Catalan territories, becoming captivated by their stories.
Our dream is for everyone to fall in love with Catalonia just as we have.
