A3 Poster The Executioner
short option]
He lived by the wall. His house, narrow as a held-in sigh, was wedged between the chapel of Santa Àgata and Casa Padellàs. From a narrow, rickety window, the executioner watched the Plaça del Rei, where shadows stretched like inquisitorial fingers.
They said he carried a hereditary curse and that his blood was destined to spill blood, that his lineage was marked by the weight of the axe and the edge of the sword. One does not escape fate when destiny calls one by name.
And so, faced with his inevitable misfortune, the executioner consecrated his soul and body to a greater end: that no execution he carried out would fail to touch the soul as well, and that every fall of the steel produced by his hand would resonate with stoicism in the halls of eternal judgment.
For the judgment that The Executioner delivers is not the end, but the true beginning, and his sentence falls with arcana 20 of the Tarot Profanus.

INSPIRATION AND SYMBOLISM
Bring ancestral history to your walls: the sacred judge, the inner awakening, and inevitable destiny.
The leaf does not fall as a punishment, but as a revelation: it separates what was from what must now begin.
Attached to the ancient walls of medieval Barcelona, between the Chapel of Santa Àgata and the Casa Padellàs, the Executioner practiced his trade. Marked by an inherited profession he had tried to abandon to dedicate himself to medicine, fate forced him to resume a role as feared as it was necessary to preserve the world's order. But the Executioner turned his role into something deeper: every blow of his axe became an act of higher justice, capable of separating truth from lies, the mask from the essence, the past from what was destined to be born.
Catalan tradition tells that the Executioner had taken a sacred oath by which his earthly judgment became also a divine one. The edge of his sword did not only execute a human sentence, but revealed who was worthy of paradise and who was condemned to the eternal punishment of hell.
Inspired by Arcanum XX (the Judgement archetype) from the Tarot Profanus collection, this striking print captures the serene dignity, revealing strength, and transformative power of the Executioner. A facsimile reproduction of the detailed illustration, drawn entirely by hand, this work becomes a daily reminder to embrace one's own truth and leave behind everything that is no longer part of your path.
Designed by art historian Eugenia García Domínguez and contemporary artist Leandro García Pimentel, this print has been created for lovers of medieval history, Gothic aesthetics, tarot philosophy, and Catalan folklore.
