Gràcia Bell Tower Poster
A column rises in the heart of the Gràcia neighborhood, like a finger pointing towards the course of the stars. On its face, the signs of the zodiac were sculpted, twelve faces guarding each month of the year, marking not only the hours, but also destinies. The tower’s sumptuous crown was its bell, bearer of a soul and a proper name that resonated like an ancient whisper: La Marieta.
One April day, when the powers that be sought to snatch away the children of the people to take them to war, the bell raised its voice and the neighbors took to the streets in what became known as the Revolt of the Quintes.
Its marvelous symbol is captured in arcane number 16 of the Tarot Profanus.
- 150g matte premium cardstock.

INSPIRATION AND SYMBOLISM
Bring ancestral history to your walls: the iconic bell tower of resistance, identity, and collective memory
There are towers that fall due to pride, but there are others that remain standing thanks to memory.
Rising above the old Vila de Gràcia, the emblematic Campanar de Gràcia is much more than a tower: it is a living symbol of collective spirit and an identity that refuses to disappear. Decorated with signs of the zodiac, Catalan heraldry, and crowned by its legendary bell, Marieta, the bell tower became a bastion of resistance during the 1870 Revolt of the Quintes, when its incessant ringing called the people to defend their freedom. Bombed, cracked, and condemned to silence, the bell tower survived, turning its wounds into an enduring myth of resistance.
Inspired by the Tarot Profanus collection, this striking print captures the historical strength and architectural symbolism of the Campanar de Gràcia. A facsimile reproduction of the detailed illustration, drawn entirely by hand and inspired by medieval and Gothic aesthetics, this work becomes a piece full of meaning that pays tribute to resistance, memory, and all those voices that refuse to be silenced.
Designed by art historian Eugenia García Domínguez and contemporary artist Leandro García Pimentel, this print has been created for lovers of Barcelona's history, architecture, and Catalan folklore.
