In the European and Mediterranean herbal tradition, orange blossom has been used since the time of strong Arab influence on the Iberian Peninsula, both in perfumery and cosmetics and in calming infusions, and it was primarily recommended to soothe the nerves, reduce anxiety and emotional agitation, and help balance the mood.
